Travel
I haven't posted in a while, because my life has been a little crazy. I was home, in my new place in Colorado, for about a month, and was starting to feel a little lazy. So I emailed a guy about a job. I was lucky enough to get one right away, of course it involved travel and I had to leave the next day. So I've been living out of hotels for the last 3 weeks. I've been toting my bike from place to place, getting in my training in hotel rooms on the trainer. The powertap allows me to keep things consistent, which is great, but the travel itself is taking a toll on my training. Don't get me wrong, I feel incredibly lucky to have a job right now (who doesn't, right?). I just wish it was a little more of the 9-5 style. Eating out is also taking a toll. If any road warriors out there have tips for eating healthy when you are living out of a hotel room (without a kitchenette, of course), they would be much appreciated. My racing schedule has also changed a bit. I'm doing the Chelan Man Olympic distance tri up in Washington state, which will be nice. I've never raced there before. All in all, things are good. I'll write more when I get a good long ride in later this week.
Tip for eating healthy on the road #1: Don't eat anything you find on the floor.
Tip #2: Anything that starts or ends with "Mc" is probably going to make you sad.
