Camp

Well another week (plus a few days) is in the books.  This past weekend was my team camp, which was a blast.  I ended up getting in 85 miles on Friday and 100 miles on Saturday.  I felt good during the rides and was able to ride with the strong guys.  I did hit a new peak watts at 1040 at some point during the weekend.  The plan was to do a 40 mile ride on Sunday, but snow and high wind made that not a good idea.  It has been a little crazy since the weekend so I have not had a chance to really dive into the numbers.

Camp was the incentive I needed to shave the legs for the summer.  Last year was the first time I shaved the legs so my wife still has mixed opinions on it.

One really cool aspect of camp was that we had the opportunity to get professional massages on Friday night.  The Fix studio is a team sponsor so they came down.  It definitely made the legs feel great.

Yesterday and today were the first days I have commuted to and from work.  This is great as I can get my workouts in vs. sitting in the car.  Both days I have not had the best snap in the legs, but enough to keep pushing through the workouts.

What no numbers from camp? I'm curious as to your AP for each day? Are you just sitting in or pulling? What percent of FTP are the rides?

A professional massage is a great treat. You can get many of the same benefits through self massage with a foam roller (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJLxruO3su0&feature=PlayList&p=25FF6BE86E57CF73&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=8). Its more work, but it's less expensive for day-to-day. The 12-inch round foam roller is good for travel too. http://www.power-systems.com/p-2972-premium-eva-foam-roller.aspx
